Default How to set up simple shipping?

Here is what i need to get going. Im useing one type of shipping. The shipping has a basic grid that goes up by grams. The shipping also has three different areas North America,Europe,Asia.

Now i want to use the items weight to figure shipping. So as more items go into the cart the shipping goes up if the total weighs more than 500 grams.
500 grams is the lowest shipping cost in the carrier i will be using.

So how do i do this. Table rate? and can i have three tables for the different areas? Or should i just use one table for the three areas to figure shipping right now? And fix it later?

I will be using EMS shipping if that helps anybody answear the question. IM not charging Tax or for the packing material. Imtrying to make it so the items weight just gets added up and then uses the chart in enter. But i dont know where to enter it. Yes im silly

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Try Zone Shipping - you can set this by Weight as well as by region (zone)

The strings you put into Zone Shipping will look something like this...

Let's say you increment price in units of TEN grams...

    0.01:3.85,0.02:4.95,0.03:6.55,

    (This says...
for weight up to 10 grams, charge $3.85...
for weight between 10 grams and up to 20 grams, charge $4.95
for weight between 20 grams and up to 30 grams, charge $6.55.

Naturally, if you increment in units of HUNDRED grams, your decimal place moves over one to the left. If you are working in SINGLE grams, move it over one to the right...

Then, you need to find DEFINES in certain php language files for "lbs" or "kg" (whatever the current define is) and change this to "grams". Use the DEVELOPER TOOLKIT feature in ADMIN >>> TOOLS
