SSL with a different url??

I am wondering if anyone has come across a way to use a differnet url for the ssl --> say http://www.mysite.com for the catalog url and https://www.myhost.com/mysite/whatever.php

If no one has come across a way to do this, it would be beneficial because most hosting companies offer sitewide ssl, and if everybody is like me, we could all use the extra dollars saved by purchasing an ssl cert!

That's called "shared SSL" or a "shared certificate".

The last time I tried that, oh maybe 2 or 3 years ago with a 1.2.x version, it gave me all kind of problems, but I see that it must be worked out by the link you gave me. thankx
