Default Use Backup MySQL Database to migrate store? - Migration Gameplan

Just a quick question: I'm running a Fantastico installed 1.3.8a instance of ZC on an add-on domain on Hostmonster. To get an SSL cert that won't throw an error, I have to completely re-do my account. (Can't change hosts and HostMonster will only issue them for the main domain after you get a static IP. No big deal since I'm not doing anything with my current "main" domain other than redirecting and most of my website will upload quickly.

I've read through https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=100 twenty or thirty times and have installed the Backup MySQL Database mod. It works just fine.

I'm worried, though that I will hit some sort of snag when I reimport the store. Obviously, I am not very confident in my phpMyAdmin skills yet, but I need to get Authorize.net up and running.

After everything is setup, would it work if I reinstalled via Fantastico, added the Backup MySQL Database mod, then restored from the mod?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't want to screw the pooch on this one!

    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

That's fine for your database data.
What about all your customizations to PHP files?
You need to make backups of those too ... commonly done via FTP.

Cool. Glad to know that will work! So, everything that you can modify through the Admin interface is in the database, correct?

I haven't made very many mods, but I've already FTP'd everything to my computer and thumb drive. Can I just reload it all directly from my local directory?

I assume I would still need to avoid copying over /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php, correct?

Also, since I would be importing the database, I wouldn't need to run Fix_Cache_Key, would I?

Sorry if these are no-brainer questions. I'm still working on figuring this out and my manual was just printed and shipped yesterday. :)

Thanks very much. Actual support for my shopping cart is a completely new experience for me. :)
