    Idea or Suggestion Importing Customers

I am wondering if there is any way that I can bring all my customers over from oscommerce to zencart? I have about 142 customer accounts that will need to swapped over to the new zencart site.

I'm still after advice with this - my product info and layout is completely different on my new zencart site and the customer details I request are different.

All I need to bring across is the customer details and the orders from os-commerce.

    I have found a mod http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=454
that will allow me to add customers from admin but not too sure if this is the best way to go as it still leaves the orders behind and then you have the issue of passwords.....

Urgent help is required - I have only got 1 week to get everything across before my 1st birthday celebration and new site launch

I think you're probably stuck doing it manually with the 'Add Customers from Admin' mod. You could probably edit the osCommerce import mod to just pull over the customer info, but it might take less time to do it manually.

As for importing orders, you'd need to import the corresponding products, too.

Ok thanks, I might just do that.

As for the orders - would it matter if all the product have been changed around etc? I don't really want to loss all the orders when I switch over.

I'd guess that the products are associated with the orders by product id, so if you don't import the products exactly, it'll show the wrong product, or throw an error.

that makes sense - I can worry about the orders later and just worry about getting the customers across. Thanks
