They're all links at the top of main page right below logo and I can't for the life of me find a place to edit them!

Open your Admin> Catalog> Categories/Products

They are not in a file, they are stored in your database.

though presumably there's some code somewhere that puts the links up there? I was hoping to remove them altogether.

Admin> Configuration> Layout Settings> Category tabs. May I suggest some reading in the tutorials/FAQs? Might want to consider the book too. We have tried to make life easier by being able to configure man, many things from the Admin instead of having to edit files.

I have been reading, I read a LOT last night before being able to finally change the logo lol, It's only day two so I'm still getting my feet wet. I'll keep on reading! :)

As a newer Zenner with 2.5 sites under my belt (1 still in development ), I would HIGHLY suggest buying the book. I fumbled my way through all 3 sites, asked some questions that I am sure were already answered a million times, then bought the book. DUH, I should have bought the book first.

It will save you tons of time...
