Image Handler II-where to install?

Greetings~

I am pretty new to this whole building a cart thing...I've done really well using the forum and tutorials. Thanks all!

I am trying to install IH2 for my v1.3.8 cart...when I read the directions, it tells me to upload the module to my server. Great...but exactly where??? For dummies like me, you have to be pretty explicit

Every time I tried to install it, nothing would show up in my admin to finish putting it in. Can anyone help?

Hi.

The files go in the root of the cart.
so the files in admin go in your admin folder.
the includes in includes and so on.

ok, i uploaded the zip file, extracted everything into my admin folder. i then moved the 'image' folder to images, 'includes' to includes, etc. where does the bmz_cache go? i put it in the main cache folder.

still nothing showed up under my tools in my admin interface

yeah what my eyes are feeling like about now ;p

the bmz_cache is a new root level folder

Hi Cat,

Try to do it the other way around.
So unzip on your local computer. Select all files and folders from the zipfile and copy them to your root cart folder.
Do not forget the SQL patch that has to be copied and run into the SQL Tool in the adminpanel .

ok, i tried unzipping and uploading. there's still something i'm missing, probably the most obvious knowing me!!

which is right?

IH2 admin folder path: public_html/admin (install whole folder here, or open all files in the IH admin folder and put them here?)

images: public_html/admin/images OR public_html/images

includes: public_html/admin/includes OR public_html/includes

again, do i just install these folders or am i supposed to take the files out and put them in the destinations?

also, which is the sql patch? and do i just copy and paste that into my admin interface "install sql patch" under tools?

There is no sql patch to install.

== Short Version (don't do this on a live site) ==

Copy the following directories into your Zen Cart folder (public_html).

* admin
* bmz_cache
* images
* includes (see below if using a custom template)

Make sure that the "bmz_cache" folder's permissions match those of your
images folder (e.g 0777, 0775 or 0755).

Go to admin->Tools->Image Handler 2->Admin and click "Install Image Handler"

If you use a custom template, copy the contents of
includes/templates/templates_custom into your custom template folder or
merge the files if the target files have already been customized by you.

== Long Version ==

Check if this contributions would overwrite any files that you modified, if
you would upload it to your server. That means you have to compare the
folder containing your changes to this contribution's folder. The folders
you need to upload to your server are the following.

* admin
* bmz_cache
* images
* includes

Make sure that the "bmz_cache" folder's permissions match those of your
images folder (e.g 0777, 0775 or 0755).

If everything went fine, You will have a new entry called "Image Handler 2"
inside the Tools menu of your Zen Cart admin interface. Select this link to
request the Image Handler admin tool. There are four tabs on that page from
which you select "Admin"� to display some administrational functions regarding
Image Handler 2. Select ˜Install Image Handler" and the installation is
complete.

If you use a custom template, copy the contents of
includes/templates/template_custom into your custom templates folder. If you
have modified any of the files located in this contribution's
includes/templates/template_custom folder, you need to merge these files
(popup_image_additional/tpl_main_page.php in particular) with those of your
custom template.

GOT IT!!!

I had been trying to install this program via my cpanel upload...nothing was working, or I was extracting files manually to the wrong location (no surprise). All it took was an FTP program and just a jump to the left...

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your help. I had read the documentation but, alas, setting up carts is not my primary profession so the obvious wasn't obvious to me.

Off to work on my images!!
