Default Please help! Editor looks completely different to uploaded text!!

    Hi everyone
I am writing in desperation hoping someone will have a solution to this!

I am new so know little and am having a recurring problem with this, which is making using Zen unviable for me if it can't be fixed.

When adding new products and putting in text to upload for the 'product descrption' the text looks fine in the editor, but when it uploads it looks completely different!!!!

The 'preview' mode looks somewhere between what you see in the text box and what is finally uploaded so it gives little idea of what you will get when you upload! The words are right, but the formatting is completely 'random'!!! colours change, spaces change etc!!??/

Can anyone help, I am at my wits end with it - I have logged on using a different computer and get the same problems.

    Many thanks

    Debbie

It hard to know but I try looking at the .css file. Look at the Tutorials/FAQ section I think there is a section on how to make changes for the .css file or you can goggle it.

    hi Damon
Thanks for such a quick response :-)

I have to apologise for my lack of knowledge in these areas, I would not know how to start playing with .css as a web designer built my site using Zen cart - which even after buying and reading the recommended book I have not been able to turn into an asset yet!!

Thanks anyway - I will keep checking in and will forward your suggestion to the designer as a further suggestion.

    Cheers

    Hi Debbie,

You might want to download the FireFox browser and the webdeveloper addon that goes with it. It will allow you to play around with the stylesheet (css) on the fly and see what does what. You'll still have to save your changes separately and upload them to the site.

Can you post a url to your site and give us an idea of exactly what you see as the problem with the product descriptions?

    Hi Mary Ellen
Thanks for that, I have played with the pages on the website so they look OK through trial and error, I did take some screen shots to show the difference I see in the html view, then the preview view and the final uploaded view, but I don't know how to make those available on here to show you.
The actual site is at www.theyesapproach.com but you would not see the issue by just looking at the end upload view.

Thanks for the advice re FireFox, I will download that and have a go see what does what, having never messed with css before. I will be sure to backup first!

    cheers
    Debbie
