Telephone number is lost during customer registration.

Hi Zenmasters,

I hope you can help.
For some inexplicable reason the telephone number field in the customer registration form is not transferring any data to my admin.
When a new customer registers the telephone number field is always blank even though it is a manadatory field.
I tries registering as a new customer myself and the web end works perfectly. I had to enter a tel number to be able to submit the form but the number just disappears when I look at the details in admin.
It is not a major issue but incredibly frustrating as if I need to contact the customer or pass tel no on to couriers I have to email the customer and ask them for their telephone number knowing that they already supplied it during registration.

Can anyone help me fix this?

If you have phpMyAdmin, check the tables to see if a tel number is being written in to the appropriate table. If there is no data in this table, then there is likely to be one of two possible problems:

1. Corrupt PHP
2. Corrupted database tables.

If you are using a custom template, swicth back to CLASSIC and register as a customer. If this "fixes" the problem, you have a duffy php file in your custom template - possibly the one that drives the registration process - (tpl_modules_create_account.php) .

If you are using the Classic template anyway (no custom template), try re-uploading the following directory and all its files:

includes/templates/template_default/templates

(Make a backup of your original folder first).

If this fails to fix the problem, run one (or all) of the dbase repair options - both from within zc admin and also via your host c-panel console.

You may also care to check you server error log for possible error messages.

I got the same situation!

some registers don't have 'gender' and 'tele number', but some have.

When i registered by myself, i always have to put these 2 information. How they don't need to put these 2?

I'm using zen-cart 1.3.7, I'm afraid it's some hack. any idea? thank you.

Thanks for the link WilliamL but it isn't a paypal express problem. It happens when my customers register and pay with credit/debit card.
