    Default forced cc transaction linkpoint

I've just stiwched webshosts so my cc transations will go through automatically instead of needing to be run by hand.

I'm in test mode for linkpoint api, and I want to run a forced transaction, but I'm only given a cc number, no expiry, no cvv code, and I don't know what name to use.

Do I force this transaction by actually ordering from my site?

I tried to run a live transaction (with the module set to live) using my own cc but it declined the order...and there's plenty of room on the card. Will linkpoint not let you order from yourself?

    Thank you,
    Meg

The best test is always done with a live/real card.
There's no prohibition from charging your own card ... that's the easiest way to test, and is perfectly acceptable.

When it declined your card, what was the error message returned?

If you turn on Debug Logging to File in your Zen Cart linkpoint_api payment module, and then do another test transaction, you'll see a log file in your /cache folder. Post its contents here ... it should have some clues as to the cause of the failure.

Or, you can check in your Admin under Admin->Customers->Linkpoint CC Review to see the results of failed transactions ... if you've got database storage enabled in the module.

okay, I didn't have the data storage enabled but I was able to run a successful visa and mc transation. when I ran discover, it said the number was not a valid number....but that is the number given in the module set-up!

when I tried to run a failed transaction, it said " We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are presently unable to contact the Credit Card company for authorization. Please contact the Store Owner for payment alternatives."

the message I got when ran my own card was an actual "decline" message.

well now I can't even login to linkpoint...the site won't come up, so chances are it's their problem, not mine! thanks for the help, I'll check in if it happens again...

    yes, discover is enabled.

so far, two transactions have gone through with no apparent problem. I'm guessing it was my credit card company that would not allow me to buy from myself!

    Thank you!
