Hosting windows/linux type question

Hi good peoples!
Just about to shift to a new host for our sites...
Is there much of a difference between windows hosting and unix/linux?
The new host only deals with Linux, but I've no idea what I'll have to do differently...
Appreciate a few basic hints

Linux is in my opinion a more stable server. I physicaly run my own its sitting next to me as we speak. Its the way it handles the files and there are several security issues that I believe make Linux better. As far as your concerned nothing would really change from the user stand point!

With Zencart... linux every time!

(I gave up on windows 7 years ago after numerous fall-overs and headaches. NEVER had a problem when using linux - arguably the most stable system around).
