Category Side bar customiziation

Hey, i did a search and found ways to change the colors of cats/sub-cats, but i was wondering if there was a way represent categories/subs with graphical buttons, similar to a side index of many site's main pages. The way our categories are now its really hard to read and some get cut off do to character quantity restriction. Thanks alot!

Yes, but only bt hardcoding and thid takes away from the versatility of the dynamic structure of Zen Cart as any additions deletions/changes to the category tree will require a manual edit to this file

The actual restriction on the length of category names happens in the database. The category name field is defined as something like varchar(32). You can change this, but back up the database first, and don't try it unless you have some familiarity with database modification.
