featured product only shows on the mainpage

Frankly I switched so many things in the early days.

Can you display featured conterbox on the category landing pages? Could have swore that they used to be there but I changed something or maybe they never were there. I did what I thought were the logical things. Featured is turned on in every place I can find it. Mostly in index where it is designated 1 for all headings. Shows up fine on mainpage.

Hi

All are set to "1" and I do have items that are regular items on featured. These do not anywhere but main page.

Here is what I have done

1) featured definitely active and green
2) index all set to show featured "1"
3) in layout show featured is "true"

I think those are all that I checked. Is there another place?

Site is password protected. Is it possible to list the feature on all pages? Any more suggestions. It has to be something obvious.

Is it possible you removed it from the includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_index_default.php?

Well I have an override file for that but the featured sections are identical. Plus it shows on the mainpage just not on the subpages. Frustrating...

I think I have an answer... I went and turned my featured products on for the categories...
I went ot my first category and no featured products. Then I looked under my next category, they show up there!

The answer:

They show up only under the category where they belong. If I have bells as a featured item, the featured bells show up unders bells. The pins don't show up under bells, they only show up under pins!
Is this the case for you?

Does anyone know how to cut this code and make all the featured products show on all the selected pages regardless of category? Right now mine only show in its relative category and the mainpage. Some categorys don't justify a bunch of featured items but I'd like to show 12 or so of them regardless.

I messed with it a bit but can't seem to make it work. Maybe it si more complicated than I think...
