I am new to this whole thing, so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. My question is similar if not exact, to those posted within this thread, however I remain confused and I am very hopeful someone here can help or direct me to a post that has the answers.
We have products that are priced by size, therefore have set the attributes accordingly. In our products import database, of course we have our prices listed, which I presume would be considered the "base" price. Therefore, we created the attributes import database to reflect prices according to size. When the attributes were created, and everything was uploaded, we had a wonderful text field next to the product listing that says "Starting At $X.OX"
Then we discovered the prices from the main product import database were being added to the orders. For instance, if a customer ordered 4oz at $4.57, the base price of that product at 1oz at $2.25 was added to the order.
So...We set the prices from the product import database to $0.00, updated and uploaded both product import and attributes, which fixed the problem of the price addition, however the "Starting At" price is also removed.
We had been told we need to update each individual product through the Admin page to allow the Starting At field to show the base price without adding it to the oder. This is not practical. We have hundreds of products and to do this piece by piece is near impossible and negates database functions.
My question is this...What do we need to change in the Attributes Controller to get the base "Starting At" price to show up again in the product listing without having to do each item individually without it being added to the actual order AND still be able to use the database uploads.
If you need a visual of what I am referring to, to help with the answer, please view the "Herbs & Spices" section of "Pathways Store" category at our website at www.mypathwaysonline.com.
Your guidance and patience is greatly appreciated.
Many Blessings!
