Changing image files on color change

Hello,


I have an issues that I can't quite seem to figure out. I have my stores up and running, pretty much perfectly, but I am unsure how to make it so that when someone changes the color (in the drop down attributes menu) of an item, it shows the image file associated with the color.


Is there a way to do this?

Not as such - that would require custom javascript coding. There are various image enhancement mods available in Downloads. One of them, Ajax Image Swapper, will put the thumbnail you click into the main image position. If you include thumbnails of each color, they can easily see what each looks like (though they still have to select the attribute).

This is not a feature of Zencart, and I don't think there are 3rd-party modules that accomplish this.

My gut feel tells me that while it may be possible, it will be costly to hire a zencart guru to write a module for you.

It seems like every system should have this feature. Is this being worked on by anyone?

I have not gotten under the hood of Zen as of yet. How hard is it to handle?

Seems like a special SELECT would need to be selected so that when a product had color switching options the correct SELECT was rendered whereas some other product/attribute would not need it.

EG: Defined for shirts but not for monitors.
