Define Page 5...possible?

Greetings all

I like to keep my shop uncluttered, and that means keeping sideboxes to a minimum. I'd like to add a page 5 to my 'more information' sidebox (my name-The More You Know).

What's the quickest way to do this? I've thought about copying and pasting the info for say, define_page_4.php, etc., and just renaming it. But, which files would need to modified to make this possible? Or would it just be easier to do it via EZ Pages?

An additional defines page can be added and the best outline for the 8 or so adds/edits that this requires is the about us module

And yes ezpages might be easier but all contained in the DB vs in a file

kobra, before i go any further with this, which do you think would be the way to go?

i would like to create a form, for people ordering custom items. it will need checkboxes and text areas. would that be easier to do as an EZ page, or do the 'about us' thing?

Depending on the complexity of your form either way will most likely net your desired result while actions for the form might be easier as a a php function file.

If you proceed this way you can look at the contact us form files and use it as a model

I tried both ways and decided on adding extra defines. I liked just having the one sidebox.

As a nice little thing know:

Setup ezpages with titles equivalent to your define pages i.e.

Define 6 = apple cakes
Ezpage 1 = apple cakes

Have ezpage 1 show in the footer or header but put a link to define page 6 in the box.

My footer now has links to my define pages which I like.

As mentioned though - if you have a page to regularly manage then I would use EzPages as you can more easily track deletions/additions as your store grows.

Just a note on this...

One can turn off the default defines box for Information and use the EZpages sidebox named "Important Info" and change the heading title to "Information" in english.php, alone with either new ezpages to replace the defines pages or an internal link to a defines page that exists
