Products and Quantity questions....

Im adding products but have some questions.

1) How can I get rid of the "this product was added on... etc" ?

2) How do I correctly set the quanity? Say I have 5 hats and that when all 5 sell to show as sold out ? I assume this is the same as my next quesion.

3) Can you explain the "Add product" Page features better. I dont understand these exactly.

Product Qty Minimum:
Product Qty Maximum: 0 = Unlimited, 1 = No Qty Boxes
Product Qty Units:
Product Qty Min/Unit Mix: Yes No
Products Quantity:
Products Model:

Also in the "Products Price Manager" they show up again, are they the same?

4) Also when I add a product it shows the picture, and a tiny version as well over the main picture with the catagory. Anyway to get rid of those?

5) How can I turn off the quanity remaining option?

I didnt see answers for these. Ive had numerous other questions but the search feature helped me with them all so far. Im sure Ill ask many more questions. This is/will be my first ecommerce website. This shopping cart system seems to have a steep learning curve, although it can be me. But it seems so powerful, cant wait to learn it more.

I would start with the /docs and FAQs ... as well as the WIKI ...

A lot of these settings you will find are in the Catalog ... Product Type ... Edit Layout ...

Some will be in the Configuration ... Stock ...

A search on: min max unit ...

Don’t know if this is the right place to ask this question, but its a start.

I want to zero out the quantity for all products in a category, including any sub categories.

Playing around, and I mean playing I managed to get an SQL statement that will do it one category at a time but it won’t zero out the sub categories.

Here is the SQL I used:
UPDATE `zen_products` SET `products_quantity` = '0' WHERE `master_categories_id` = '90'

I didn’t write the statement I just substituted the table and field names to suit my purposes and like I said its working, just not doing the complete job I want.

Any ideas how to change this to do even the sub categories?

I did see, or I just don’t know of a way to do the same thing in admin.

It's always a good idea to start a new thread. Especially after 5 years

Anyway, since you seem to be wanting to turn everything off, why not just turn off the category. That would stop all products from showing at all.

I'm at a loss to think of any other reason for changing all products to 0 qty.

I'm not trying to turn everything off. I just want to zero out the Quantity. That would make that product out of stock and can not be purchased until I update it.

Why? Because turning off the categories with more than 10K items would generate that many dead links in Google and any other search engine my store is listed in.
