Default Hide product until Logged In

If this question has been asked before, I apologize. I just spent the last two days searching the forum looking for an answer and my head is spinning.

I have certain products that don't want displayed until the person is logged into Zen Cart. What files do I need to modify to do this?

Easy to set must be logged in to browse. - But for only specific items to be hidden many many files

Like what? Is there a list?

This is kind of critical to my implentation due to two scenarios.

    Scenario 1
I have a lenghtly form with a PHP processor that sends out an email as well as writes to a DB table. I want to take that form and have it forward to the product that's hidden through a buy now button.

In this case, I've thought about four different situations and am I trying to decide which is the best option:

    • Adding the attributes to the product that would mimic the form and just leave it at that. My concern there is what will appear on a person's invoice.
    • Leaving the form where it is now and having a buy now button. This would mean leaving the site half in and half out of Zen-Cart.
    • Duplicating the contact us form and modifying the duplication so that it does the email as well as writes to the DB and then forwards to the buy now page.
    • Modifying one the extra define pages like Page_2 so that it contains the the form and lets the processor handle it before forwarding to the buy now page. I'm not really thrilled with the option because of setting up the post back based on vaildation.

    Scenario 2
I only want people to be able to buy certain products after they have logged in. I don't want the public to know that they are available.

Any help or insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated.

There are an infinite numbr of individual conditions that each user wants to implement...so a list for yours would be different than a list for mine and as such there is no list.

There are several displays, product listing, product info, new, featured, all, and if these products are spread over several top level categories then there will have to be a flag of sorts and each type of display construct will have to have the if-else-then checks coded into the files that impact each listing

Due to sessions it is not advisable nor supported to attempt to use Zen Cart as a buy now backend.
