Default Using Alternate PHP Cache (APC) kills zencarts on my server

    Hi zenned people

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this - I have just installed APC (Alternate PHP Cache) on my vps and I have noticed that as soon as I enable it in the php.ini, all my zencarts across the server collapse into standard Apache misconfig messages (no error messages generated via PHP).

Before I start messing around, I was wondering if anyone else had come across this, or is this just some exotic personal setting I've encountered on my vps

    - and/or -

would enabling other cacheing methods in zencart potentially work around this *feature*? As a rule, I don't enable cacheing on any of my zencarts simply because none of the clients have sites that are that busy at this stage...

    Thanks in advance.

I know using eAccelerator will cause problems.
I haven't tested APC personally, but Xcache seems to operate without any trouble.

    Have a look here:

    r a w s e o . c o m /news/2009/06/09/how-to-install-alternative-php-cache

I changed the location of the tmp files (apc.mmap_file_mask=/tmp/apc.XXXXXX) and this seemed to fix some stuff, have a go.
