image problem Images with "no size" do not appear

    Greetings all,

I am having a problem with some of my product images. Some of them show the alternative text instead of the image. The images are in the correct directories with the proper naming, ie:

    /images/...jpg
    /images/medium/..._MED.jpg
    /images/large/..._LRG.jpg

When I checked the image properties, I noticed that the ones which do not appear show a size of "0" or "unknown (not cached)". When I show the contents of image file in the Zen Cart directory, the image does appear even though the size of the file is not listed. This newbie doesn't know what "cached" means (yet). I also am a mom of a 2 year-old, so I might not be able to check responses or reply right away.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Sounds to me like the images did not upload correctly.

Still need some help. Does anyone have an idea? I changed the permissions on all image directories to 777. I also reloaded a few problem images to no avail. I can PM you the website.

    Thanks in advance.

Still trying to figure this one out...I noticed that when you click on the properties for an image that is not appearing, the file name for that image is in uppercase, whereas the file name in the directory is in lowercase. All the images were loaded by FTP, and the images that do appear show the lowercase filename when you click on image properties.

    Any clues?

On a LINUX/UNIX box, names and file extensions are CAse SenSITiVe...

    ABCDE.jpg

... is NOT the same as

    abcde.jpg

    and

    12345.JPG

... is NOT the same as

    12345.jpg

What you may have done is given your images a name that is inconsistent with the reference to it in your database.

... additionally, your FTP program may be set to FORCE lowercase on upload. (A good idea for UNIX as it is ALWAYS BETTER to use lowercase only for filenames, directory names, etc.
