red flag Internal Server Error at Checkout

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Help!!! I have tried everything I can think of.

Your server's apache error log should tell you what the cause of the error is.
You may need to involve your hosting company.

500-Internal-Server-Error messages are usually caused by something being submitted which violates a server security rule. Only your server administrator can change those rules. Sometimes only the server admin can see the logs that explain what's wrong, too.
    Talk to them about it.

Meanwhile, what have you changed about your checkout process since it last worked correctly?
Does this happen all the time, or just once in awhile?
Which checkout page(s) does it happen on?

red flag Re: Internal Server Error at Checkout

Thanks for the reply. Thought I was making progress, but now I get this error when trying to access my site. I can access the admin though:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/clane/public_html/includes/languages/english/credit_cards.php on line 57

The orig problem started a couple of weeks ago with an intermittent 500 Internal Server Error.

My host said they "fixed" the prob. However, checkout was still quite laborious for some folks.

After reading here for days and figuring it couldn't get any worse, I 're' uploaded a backup of copy of my admin file. Completely overwrote.

I was going to go ahead and do a complete upgrade, but I don't even know where to start and which files to ftp to my desktop to 'restyle' my site after the upgrade.

As you can imagine, candle shop. Lot's o products lol.
