So I was having a variety of issues getting Zen Cart installed on our Solaris server, and finally thought I had everything figured out. I decided to install again from scratch, since I knew I had fixed all of the problems.

Now, when I try to install, it gets to the point that the tildes are expanding across the screen during the installation, but then I get a white page that just says, "Unable to connect to database."

I can connect to the database on the unix command line using the username and password that I specified during the installation process. I created a little PHP webpage that connects successfully to the database using the same username and password and retrieves a row.

What could the problem possibly be? I looked at the two configure.php files, and they both appear to have the database info correct.
