Default Creating a development system

Hi
I am trying to create a development system for my online store. I installed xampp and zen-cart then I retsored a backup of the live system. Problem is, my development system does not see any of the Products (in fact anything) of the restored database.

Can anyone point me to where I have gone wrong i.e. is there further configuration work to be done?

Regards

Melks

Did you edit your local includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php?
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

Do you have a database table prefix on one, and not the other?
Example: zen_address_book
Country Kitty Crafts

Hi

Thanks to you both for the quick response. The answer, I think, is a mixture of both of your questions. I looked at the CONFIGURE.PHP file and it looks like Zen-Cart has created it in UNIX style. I am busy amending it. I also have prefixes on the Live system which are not in the CONFIGURE.PHP file - I will amend that too.

Once again, thanks for your responses - I will keep this posting up to date.

Regards

Hi

Ok this was a mixture of me being a tad dull:

1) I used Notepad to edit the file CONFIGURE.PHP and it looked like an old style UNIX text file i.e. no CR's - used Notepad++ (an excellent editor) and it is fine.

2) My live system has database pre-fixes and my development system didnt - it does now!

Many thanks to yellow1912 & TShooters for excellent responses.

We live and learn (at least we should!)

Regards

Melks
