Product info display page problem

Hi,

I have a problem at product info display page in IE7. When someone hits the add to cart button, the layout messes up and gets shifted to the left a bit, overlapping the left picture/information. However, this problem does not happen in Firefox. See attached images for more details. I looked into tpl_product_info_display.php and got rid of all possible sources but the problem doesn't go away.

Also, what's weird is that even before add to cart, the layout can sometimes get shifted to the left as well. But it disappears when I refresh the browser.

Have you tried to contact Monster Template? Looks like you are using one of their templates. They are well documented to having issues with layouts. It is definetly a problem with the CSS.

Well, they will most likely say "sorry we can't help because your template is heavily customized". So I would rather do it myself. The area where the problem occurs has a table but does not have much CSS stuff. I thought using a table would actually hold everything in place... any other suggestions?

What I don't understand is that every time the page gets refreshed, the right part of the main center column displays before the left part and then somehow it gets pushed to the left to finish displaying. That's when the overlapping happens I think. I have been thinking, this could be due to two things:

1. The use of table in the main center column - but I think that's unlikely. I can remove the table and replace it with CSS.
2. The use of hoverbox. I am not sure I have the same problem in IE7 before that because I usually only do checking on FireFox. I just turned off hoverbox and found that the problem seems to go away. I am contacting the author for help.

I get weird alignment pileups in the product listing too, with hoverbox active. There are still slightly different pileups with javascript off (Firefox).

Don't see the problem this time in the info page, before or after adding to cart.
It does seem like it could be something to do with hoverbox.

With hoverbox turned on, it happens more frequently for some reason. I tried specifying td width and it only helps a little bit.

Try changing the width of the image that fires the JS for HoverBox.... if it's happening without HoverBox installed, the problem isn't HoverBox, however it could aid in the process.

Let me know what turns up.
