    Default Module Manager

This module allows the process of patching database while installing new modules (that uses this module) to be done automatically.

    Download:
    http://code.google.com/p/zencart-mod...downloads/list
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

    Hi everyone,

I've also installed the module manager and all of it's classes. My question, since there aren't any directions anywhere that I could find, is: How to use the module manager???

Do I just drop files that haven't been merged or copied into the catalog folder and let the manager find them? Do I put them into a special folder? What? How?

New to ZenCart. All help is appreciated.

Sorry for the lack of documentation, working on it.
You can go to Admin->Tools->Module Manager to manage the modules.

TROUBLESHOOTING: After installing itself, this module writes a file named ".keep" in admin\includes\module_installation, if your server doesnt allow it to do so, it may make the module attempting to install itself everytime. The fix is easy though, just manually create a .keep file there (after the module has already installed itself, of course)

Hi thanks for your quick response.

Do you mean to create an empty .keep file in admin\includes\module_installation?

I also have some questions in numinix.com's forum. It will be apprecaited. if you can please have a look at them here. Thanks.

I installed per instructions (to the best of my ability) but I get the following errors:

    Failed: 1
ERROR: Cannot create table module_version_tracker because it already exists
Note: 1 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.

Failed to set up version tracker table

The database table module_version_tracker does exist and has 1 record.
    There is nothing in the
    upgrade_exceptions table.
What did I do wrong? Do I need a .keep file like dealbyethan?

Yes you do. This happens when your php cant create file in that specific folder. (permission problem)
I will release a complete fix for this in the next version.

In visiting the Home page for this module I first thought it was provided by/through Google. After reading further I now understand that yellow1912 is the Mod creator and Google is just the repository for downloading, viewing information and whatnot.

With that said, although this would be a highly desired Module it does not yet appear ready for General usage. At this time the only function available is to update mySQL information related to the Module being installed. Or have I misunderstood the functionality currently available?

I do wish you all the best with this and hope progress is quick and sure. Would help if I could but that option is not avilable to me at this time.

Yes, current version can only automatically update all database patches based on the version (which, if works well should avoid the need to make users do the manual update)

In the next version release next week there will be a feature for module authors to provide database downgrade and completely un-install of their modules.

I have been thinking a lot regarding file content editing, but the problem with file permission setting on different server makes it a lots of work.
