help question A.Net Emulator: Hash Error. Do I Remove? How?

My client is using a payment gateway that is an Authorize.net emulator. When I test -- I get the "Security hash problem" error at the top. I'm using the A.Net AIM module and have left the hash field blank. I don't see anything about generating a hash code on the gateway's admin site.

Will this work when I switch to Live mode?

Do I need to include something different for the hash field?

Do I remove the hash field code? If so, how?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

The authorize.net modules are written for communicating with Authorize.net servers.
If your gateway only emulates some of their operations but not everything, you'll have to adjust the module accordingly.
If your doesn't support the hash security protection, follow this post to disable it: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...4&postcount=22

I first noticed this same issue at the end of February.

When I try to check out, Authorize.net returns the errors:

"WARNING: Security hash problem. Please contact store-owner immediately. Your order has *not* been fully authorized."

"The configuration with processor is invalid. Call Merchant Service Provider."
Sure enough, the data in the authorizenet DB table shows that the hash is failing.

I logged into Authorize.net and noted that there was NO hash setup. I regenerated it, but the problem persisted.

I contacted Authorize.net support via chat, and in the end the technician recommended that I get in touch with the Merchant Service Provider since they are the ones generating the error code 3. That call is scheduled for tomorrow.

I will also contact the web host to see if they made any changes regarding the use of a proxy to send secure cUrl calls, as indicated here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96282

UPDATE: The web host does NOT use a proxy for secure cURL calls.

The hash code will never match if your account is not properly configured by the merchant service provider.

Get that problem fixed first, and the other problem will take care of itself.

You don't have a CURL/Proxy problem or you would not be getting that error message (you'd be getting a communication failure happening before authorize.net could even check the merchant configuration).

And the 2nd so-called "related" post is not related to your situation. They were trying to retrofit the AIM module for use with a different gateway.

Thanks for the extra info! The call to the MSP tomorrow should clear this up.

As it turned out, I was unaware that the store owner had changed payment processors and got a new Authorize.net account! That would make a difference.

Now the new Authorize.net account is setup and I have the payment module reconfigured. Payments are successfully going through in test mode ("Checkout: Success!"), but I still get this error at the top of the page:

WARNING: Security hash problem. Please contact store-owner immediately. Your order has *not* been fully authorized.
Is this just a normal response in test mode?

In Authorize.net, I do NOT have an MD5 Hash setup.

In this tutorial, it says to "Enter your MD5 Hash, if you have set one up" but I do not see this as a field in the module configuration.

If I create a hash in the Authorize.net account, will this error go away? Where do I enter this hash in ZenCart?

    TIA!!!
