    Default Linkpoint question?

Hello all, I have my store completely set-up - Merchant account, and secured site. In testing the credit card transactions, everything seems to work smoothly except that the transaction doesn't show up on the backend (bank side) as a transaction. I get notified of the 'sale', the emails go out appropriately etc - it's just the transaction doesn't seem to register at the back-end.

    Any ideas?

    That's not normal operation.

So ... um ... how about a bit more information:

    - version of Zen Cart
    - list of addons installed
    - list of customizations made
    - version of PHP
    - version of MySQL
    - do the customers show up in your admin?
    - when your order is completed, you said it's sending out the confirmation email ... that should include a link to the order. What happens when you click on that?
    - In the email, what does it say as the "Payment Method"?
    - do the orders show up in your customers' My Account area?
    - "where" in your Admin are you not seeing the orders? Just the home page, or on the actual orders list area?
    - what are the order numbers assigned in the emails?
    - you titled this thread "Linkpoint question" ... Do I assume that's because you're using Linkpoint as your only payment module?

Quick clarification...I can see everything in Zencart. The order is being captured. Customer data is logged in the admin area. All details are correct i.e. credit card info, order number and details, i can look at the detailed invoice/packing slip. Clicking on the link in the email takes me to the customer log-in page.

What isn't happening is that the transaction itself isn't registering at the 'bank' (through the payment gateway) end to acknowledge that a payment was made into the account. The only thing I can think of is either a host security/firewall type of issue.

I did have credit card offlline processing enabled but have turned that off now to test again. I've turned on the debug mode to see if we can capture anything through that.

I'm running 1.3.8a, PHP 5.2.5, mySQL client ver 4.1.22. I have a number of mods but none to do with the shopping cart itself.

    regards,
    jim

In your Admin, under Customers->Orders, you say you can see the orders, right?
In the column labelled "Payment/Shipping", there are some codes related to each order. What are the codes next to these orders for which you're not getting any money deposited?

If it says "cc" then ... the orders were placed with the offline CC module, and thus you'll have to process those cards manually ... the website didn't charge the card, because it can't do that with that module.

Um, yup, under the Shipping/Payment column, it does say 'cc'.

I turned off the offline processing module this morning (unlike your clear analysis I was blindly taking a stab at something!). The guy who is doing the testing is in Vancouver, so I won't know for sure till he's online later but that, I'm sure will do the trick.

Question though...can you (or would you) have both offline and online processing modules on at the same time?

    Thank-you for the quick responses.

Technically you can have as many modules enabled as you want ... but the more you have, the more confusing it is to the customer, esp since each one will show separate sets of input fields.

Since you're apparently going to be using Linkpoint, I'd suggest just having the Linkpoint API module and the Zen Cart Free Charger enabled (free charger is used to handle "free" orders such as no-charge items as well as orders that end up free due to discounts, coupons, etc). No need for others unless maybe you want to offer Check/MoneyOrder or maybe PayPal if your customer audience would be PayPal users.
