Help! Problems With Setting Up Free Downloads

Hi All,

Could someone help.
I have set up downloads on my site and they work.
I am now trying to set up some free downloads.

I have set them up basicly the same, i set the product as free and installed the The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD and set the order status to Processing.

When you go through the checkout everything is ok, it's free, the paymant type is Free Charge Card, but when the order is complete the order status is Prending and i have go and manualy change the order status to Processing so they can download the item.

Has anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong??

In your admin/modules/payment/The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD/
set the "Set Order Status" to processing

Thanks for your reply Marg.

But I have already done that and it still doesn’t work.
The status is set to Processing, but when the order automatically processes it still only sets the order status as pending, I have tried all the options, pending, processing, shipped and default and they all only set the order status to pending.

Any other ideas?

Make sure the Products are NOT set as Virtual Products ...

Downloads are NOT Virtual Products ...

Downloads are NOT Always Free Shipping ...

By virtue of having the Download on the Attribute, these Products know that they are Free Shipping ...

If they are the only thing in the cart and you see the checkout_shipping then they are set up wrong ...

After 12h and doing the attribute Dowload configurations six times with carefully reading and folowed Koon Hoek and Ajehs instructions I still get a white blanc page after pressing download. Can tha be a clue?

It took me 12h to cal for forum help...please HELP!!!

We cannot see anything from these as we did not make the order and checkout_success is specific to a given order ...

What version Zen Cart?

Clean Install or an Upgrade?

Has this ever worked?

What size are your downloads?

What kind of filenames are they? Are they all ZIP files? Do the filenames contain special characters, spaces, punctuation or anything odd?

Is this windows or unix?

More information is better ...

OK, Clean install, 1.3.8 on a OS linux, Apache version 1.3.41 (Unix) @ Hostgator, It nerver worked, download size is one file 1.89MB and one file 472k.
Is strange that Hostgator that suppots ZC to be installed from cPanel can give configproblems and I dont know what to ask for, probably they dont give ZC support. I send you a private message whit login to backend if you want to take quick look. You are trusted!!!

The problem appears to be how you have the name setup on the download ...

/byggerod.pdf.zip

First, you have the extra slash in the name and then you have the double ending on the filename of .pdf.zip

Try using instead:
byggerod.zip

and be sure to rename the file on the server ...

The file should also be in the:
/download

directory for this ...

Be sure that /pub is set to 777 ...

Blanc page- problem still remains and I checked the configure.php file for:
define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
and its cool. Is it something with the Attribute Flags? Or some other mysterious detail I missed..??? Well thats another issue but at the Div# accountHistory and checkoutSuccess Page the layout, Centercolumn move to the right and I cant find the tags anyware css or elsware. And this is only a problem with the download products.
