Visitor Cart not merging upon Login for me

Was testing some of my site's functionality, and found that as a visitor, the contents of the shopping cart was removed during account creation.

I thought that registering as a user would merge the content of the visitor's cart into the cart of the newly-created cart.

Anyone experience this?

Also, can you allow a user to shop and check out without requiring them to have an account?

I am running ZC v1.3.8a, with IH2 and Tabbed Products Pro, with the Silverfish template.

I tried it again before switching back to the default template, but this time the item made it all the way through checkout. I must have done something screwy the other day to have gotten the item to go away - what I don't know. It is a little disconcerting, though; if I inadvertently found a way, so could a live customer...

Do you have any insight to my second question, as to whether I can allow a customer to do a "quick checkout" without requiring them to create an account?

The answer to your question is not at this time. There are some addons that attempts this though I do not know how effective they are.
