    cart error Product Pricing Problem

I have just launched an online Zen Cart shopping cart. The first order has come through but the order has only charged for the postage.

The customer has not selected an attribute (with a price), added it to the cart and come up with a price of zero.

Is there a switch to force customers to select an attribute before adding to the cart? Otherwise customers can just fill their cart with products with no size or price.

Anyone's urgent advice would be welcomed!

You need to create an OPTION VALUE for the specific OPTION NAME, that is a DISPLAY ONLY value.

For example, if you have a dropdown set of option values of option name "SIZE", it would look something like this...

    SIZE
    - Large
    - Medium
    - Small

... where the price is decided by the option selected.

Now create an OPTION VALUE for the OPTION NAME "SIZE" and call it "Make a selection...".

    SIZE
    - Make a selection...
    - Large
    - Medium
    - Small

Then, APPLY that option value to the product, and make it DISPLAY ONLY in attributes controller (make the little coloured square "yellow", to switch on the condition). See the "Legend" section of the Attributes Controller.

If the customer does not "Make a selection" he/she will be given an error, and asked to correct it.

See it in action on my website...

    Default Re: Product Pricing Problem

In my case, it was radio button options causing the problem.

The easiest solution I have found for this problem which crops up a lot on the forum is to simply set one of your product attributes (maybe the most likely or expensive attribute) as default.

This way you don't need any superflous "Make selection" to be displayed. If the customer doesn't change the option selected, at least something with a price goes into the cart.

Let me know if this comment is of use to anyone and I'll spread the information on the forum.
