Wrong order placed, cant change attributes

Not sure how to title this issue, but had a customer purchase a product and after paying, said it was the worng product, as he already purchased it a couple days earlier.

I was able to edit the order (with Edit Orders mod) but cannot change the attributes to the new product. Is there a simple way to change the attributes?

ok so is this basically self answered? is there no way of correcting the attributes after editing an order? so just delete one and have then reorder?

This creates a problem, no? I mean if I cant change the attributes value after editing the order, what use is it editing the order.

just wondering, or will super orders help me out?
