    Default Multiple photos

I'm here again with a question I've not been able to resolve.

I want to have multiple pictures in my products.

I've read the tutorials, I've followed the instructions, I've gone to the Admin>Configuration>Images and made sure it's set to show multiple images.

    I'm not getting multiple images.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

We can't help without knowing exactly what you have done. What folders and filenames have you used? Can you post a link to see your store?

Well, it's a ways from being finished and I only have one test product in my store at the moment and want two photos.

I've followed the "How do I add multiple images to a product" tutorial (though I found it a bit difficult to follow - so perhaps I did it wrong).

I loaded my first photo via the product page and put it in the dvd folder - it's name is lavender01.jpg

I ftp'd my second photo to the same folder - it's name is lavender02.jpg

I created smaller images of these two and uploaded them to the 'medium' folder under dvd (though I really didn't understand the reason for this).

I went to Admin/Configuration/SOMETHING and checked to be sure multiple images were turned on - but for the life of me I can't find that place again. I've been fighting this all day and I think my brain is worn out.

OK, you've got a bunch of problems.

First, unless you anticipate having a huge number of products to keep organized (many hundreds of images), you are better off using the main /images/ directory for your base images. Only use the /dvd/ folder for images of dvds, and then only after you have mastered the basic image organization.

Second, your "small" or base product image should be named lavender.jpg. The additional image(s) should be named lavender01.jpg, lavender02.jpg, etc. These all go in /images/.

Third, your "medium" image (only one per product) should be named lavender_MED.jpg (underscore and capitals requred), and go in /images/medium/.
Your "large" images, which you don't appear to have tried to do yet, should be named lavender_LRG.jpg, lavender01_LRG.jpg, lavender02_LRG.jpg, etc., and go in /images/large/.

    YOU are a genius!!!

Thank you so much for your simple explanation. I don't necessarily understand it, but it worked.

The only reason I used the dvd folder was that it was suggested in the original instructions in the tutorial. I will not be having a huge number of products so this will work fine.

I've printed out your instructions so I won't forget how to do this once I start really stocking the store. I believe this was my last hurdle to having it set up pretty much like I want it.

Thank you again for your help.

can you do this like this:

    ---main/images
    lavender.jpg
    lavender_blue.jpg
    lavender_red.jpg

    ---main/images/medium
    lavender.jpg

    ---main/images/large
    lavender_LRG.jpg
    lavender_blue_LRG.jpg
    lavender_red_LRG.jpg

or do you have to use _01,_02_03?
