How to: ALWAYS DISPLAY SubCATEGORIES ???

Hello,
I am looking for a code that will make the subcategories always be displayed under categories.
I am not really good with PHP, so I would really appreciate some type of instruction with the codes.

I have searched the forum and tried many codes and contributions offered, but non work like want them to.

I want the categories and subcategories to be shown in a simple way, just like on my oscommerce store ( www.armeniancds.com )

I am also looking for someone who could do changes like that for a fair price. I have few zencart stores that need some changes, and I would like to have someone do it for me for a fair price rather then me getting into php codes and messing everything up :)

Have you tried

Configuration>Layout Settings>Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories

set to 1

That sounds right, but unfortunately the wording is misleading. It always opens the current category's subs, not all subs. Turning it off will disable subcats from ever showing in the sidebox.

Try fragfutter's Uncollapsed Categories Tree mod (hosted on his site); this is reported to work well.

This is such an important feature, and suprised zencart doesn't include this hmm..

There are a million or so possible features that someone might want; if Zen Cart included all of them in the core, it would be many times as massive as it is now. The devs had to choose what to include, and inevitably it will leave out things that some consider essential, and include things that some consider useless. That's what mods are for, and the devs are trying to make it as easy as possible to plug in custom features.
