PHP download as folder

Using ftp explorer some php files display and then download (in Vista) as folders. Hence, I cannot open them even if I rename them? Anyone see this?

Yes, no problem. FTP explorer is flaky when looking at PHP files , assigns,not always, but most as folders instead of files. I downloaded another ftp program WFTP and it worked fine without this glitch.

Yes I use the same program to upload and downloads my .php files
