Another person with a question regarding Easy Populate.

I am running Zen Cart version 3.8a and have been using EP vs. 1.2.5.4 with pretty good success. No problems manipulating with EXCEL, etc. However, I find it necessary to increase the number of products by 1,000, or so. This involves downloading existing data bases available in several formats. I would like to upgrade EP so as to handle attributes. I have searched the Forum and find a lot of (to me!) confusing information that tends to lead me in circles as to which EP versions are compatible with ZC.
I downloaded EP 2.76d Mod3a. I installed it. It uploads and installs the categories, and sub-categories but that is all. No products. No attributes, etc.

I think it would be helpful to know the following, if someone would be so kind as to provide me (and I'm sure others, too!) the following:
What is the latest version of EP that will run with ZC 3.8a?
Is there any versions of EP, yet, that handle attributes?
If not, can you recommend a program, similar to EXCEL which will handle large amounts of text in a cell? I get the proverbial rail road tracks "#" in EXCEL in the description column due to large amounts of text.
Everything is going great with Zen Cart and E.P. 1.2.5.4 but it would be extremely helpful to be able to handle the large inventories.
My host, by the way, gives us pretty nearly full control via the control panel, over most everything, although I FTP the files, etc. (I offer this information, in event that any suggestions might involve working directly with MY_SQL.

I get the proverbial rail road tracks "#" in EXCEL in the description column due to large amounts of text.

Excel menu(unfortunately they keep moving these items):

format > cells > alignment > check the word wrap box
Make this cell a sufficient width to begin with

I do not use EP but the latest Zen Cart version is 3.0.3 and can be seen HERE but do not know if it does attributes.

I use navicat which is a general mysql DB tool and you need to know the DB structure and all tables that are indexed & how to be successful using it but you can script this for repetition.

Many thanks for your reply. I will check into the EXCEL cell width setting! However, I downloaded Open Office last night, did my thing with the earlier version of EP 1.2.5.4 and succeeded the first time this a.m. I got 970 products along with photos added to the db and it only took about an hour (including the setup in Open Office Calc.). I spent about two weeks trying to get these additional products and categories on but this worked. Thanks again for you reply. I will keep the information you dispensed at hand, Kobra!
