Hello

My site is really slow when it loads

I am using Image handler 2 for my images

i have 25 categories and thousands of pictures... (

can anyone advise on what i can do to optimise the speed

i am with godaddy shared hosting..

Well, you are right.....it IS slow. Here is the speed report page for your site, HERE
Pay close attention to the bottom of this page at all the warnings. It gives you some very good advice on what you need to do to reduce the load time of your site.

Looks like you're hosted by GoDaddy - they may need to move you to a less-crowded server.

Looking at your site ... there is no logical reason for it to be such a doggie site ...

Look at your database to ensure you are not missing indexes ...

Look at your hosting site to move you to a new server ...

I lean towards getting a better server or a better hosting site such as one of our Certified Hosting sites ...

Naturally it would run better if it have the link for the Powered by Zen Cart in the footer ... but that is just my personal opinion ...

I appear to be having similar issues. I dont have anywhere near as many products as the OP... but my site can often take 30-40 seconds to load up, yet I'm able to browse other sites at the same time with no issues...

I've checked with my host ( A reputable Zen Cart verified host) and all appears to be ok at that end
If anyone can interogate my site and let me know if there is something wrong it would be appreciated.

I tested your site and I found it to be quite quick. I didn't experience a slow down anywhere. Maybe it is tied to a period of the day when other sites on the server are busy and everybody slows down.

Done... just checking some times, the main site seems quite ok now.. justy goinmg through an order cycel and on checkout_shipping, this was the result

Parse Time: 4.228 - Number of Queries: 198 - Query Time: 0.184933965439

and the second time

Parse Time: 5.299 - Number of Queries: 198 - Query Time: 0.0606322348175


all other pages are sub 1.0.... is this normal ?

this is showing the number of querys to the database,
the time it takes to retrieve the information and the time it takes to create the page

Parse Time: 0.208 - Number of Queries: 165 - Query Time: 0.0480702792206
Parse Time: 0.304 - Number of Queries: 196 - Query Time: 0.0516937782593
