can you turn on the switch in the admin that will display parse times
Admin->Configuration->Logging
done.. what does it do though?
Turn off "Store Page Parse Time", and turn ON "Display Page Parse Time"
Then look on your site, in the footer ... if your template hasn't been tampered with, you should see some statistics about how long it took to build the page and talk to the database.

but how can i know what is actually slowing down to fix the issue ?
The load time isn't THAT bad:
You can go HERE and see the speed report for your site. Pay close attention to the bottom of the page. It will give you a great deal of information about anything that slows your site down, and tips on what to do to fix these issues.HTML Code:Connection Rate Download Time 14.4K 218.74 seconds 28.8K 111.87 seconds 33.6K 96.60 seconds 56K 59.96 seconds ISDN 128K 21.83 seconds T1 1.44Mbps 6.46 seconds
Hope this helps.

Some other times the page is slow to process likely due to the large size of the content on the page.
Other times it's slow while the server processes the data received back from the database.
The slower times can be frustrating, but I suspect it's mostly a result of the busy-ness of the server you're sharing with hundreds of other hosting accounts whose sites are busy doing other things at the same time as you and your customers are trying to shop.
There's not much you can do about the intermittent slowdowns, other than move to a server that's tuned more efficiently and is loaded with fewer other customers.
You may pay slightly more for hosting if there are fewer customers sharing the same server ... but you should experience fewer bottlenecks vs what you have right now.

Thank you all for your replies.. i guess it is time to leave godaddy and go to a zencart certified hosting...
I checked the hosting list.. but which one do you recommend that don't put a lot of users on the same server?
WHAT is the BEST hosting company of all the list??
thank you
quick question: which of the hosting companies will allow me to store credit card information so that i can process then offline?
