    Default adjusting the overall width

I'm starting from scratch with karatjewellers.ca/zencart

Because I backedup and imported mySQL into the new chart, some of the settings were transferred.
It seems that because I have made the sideboxes on the left, wider than the default, the right sidebox is now outside the actual site.
    1. Where do I adjust the overall width of the site? I tried to adjust the #mainWrapper (I think) from 100% to 750px like I have at robertensing.com but nothing happened.
I tried to follow the instructions I printer from the support pages and nothing seems to be working.
I even tried to save the original files in the original locations and nothing seems make any difference.

Can anyone shed some lite on what I'm doing wrong plz?

Also, even with a new install from the Zen-Cart download site, and again with a on-line install for 1.3.8 from my host, there is no option to adjust the number of columns when selecting the column view over row view.
    Am I missing something?

    Thanks
    Robert

    Are you editing:-

    includes/templates/classic/css/stylesheet.css

    or

    includes/templates/template_default/css/stylesheet.css

    ?

You need to be editing the one in the classic folder.

"there is no option to adjust the number of columns when selecting the column view over row view"

You can only get this option to function if you have installed the Column Grid mod in your current cart. The admin buttons may still be there from importing your previous database (assuming you had Column Grid on your old cart), but they won't accomplish anything.

Nothing I change to #mainWrapper in either file makes a difference. The width just doesn't want to change.

I just edited your css in firefox / webdeveloper, setting the width in #mainWrapper to 100% - and it worked for me... ?

Try clearing out all your browser caches...

If it were set to 100%, we would be seeing it correctly even though the OP's cache was showing the old version. So that can't be it.

Somehow the edits don't seem to be getting to the live site.

    Thanks Schoolboy and Glen.

This is the first site that I'm doing completely on the new Mac and either I've been sitting in front of this 24" screen too long or there something in Safari that I'm not used to.
I switched to Firefox and seem to be able to see my changes.

I'll go back at it again tomorrow. My vacation is over and I start back to work so I'm getting some TV watching in before crashing.

    Thanks again folks.

    Robert
