help question how to Install Zen Cart on a remote server

    Hi everyone:

I do not know did anyone have post similar questions before. Please let me ask in
    this new post.

Can anyone teach me how to Zen Cart on a remote server?

I am a newbie web designer, and I just start using Zen Cart.

And what should I do after I build a complete Zen-Cart setup (layout) on my local
computer / server then I want to upload or remove it to my client's website?

The e-start book did not talk about what should I do on the remote server.

I still in the beginning design step, so if it is difficult to upload to remote server.
Should I stop now, and ask my client for ftp information then create the Zen-Cart
    over their remote server?

    sorry for my English grammar.

    Thanks

    Wingsze

You need an FTP client to upload to your website. SmartFTP and FileZilla are good free ones.

There's plenty of information in the tutorials/FAQ on this site.

The book (pg 387) points you to the following link for moving information from your local pc to a remote host - https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=99

Look out for the other topics in the tutorials as well as they may be helpful for your particular situation

help question Re: how to Install Zen Cart on a remote server

    The link: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=99

talk about server requirements and I do not understand DID we need to install XAMPP Control Panel on the remote server. and How

because I do not understand how can I use phpMyAdmin on a remote sever to restore the design I have from my local computer ???

    Also, under http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Switch_Servers

#1 On your new host, create a new MySQL database.

HOW? did I need to install something over the remote server, I try to upload
xampp-win32-1.4.16-installer.exe, but it did not let me install (I use FTP software to upload it).

Is it a way that easy to upload after I try to finish my store at my local computer.

    Thanks

You only need XAMPP if you are going to run Zen Cart on your computer to test the changes. You do NOT need it on your website. Zen Cart requires PHP which should be included by your hosting service.
