    Default configure.php modification

Every time I make a change to these files, eg., installing multi sites module, I have to do a reinstall. Is there any way to avoid this? It is really painful.

I have had reason to edit my configure.php files on several occasions, (different installs of zencart), and whenever I edit the file, ftp to the server and go to main page of zencart, I get the page which tells me (I forget exactly) that it is first time,a nd I need to go through the install process, reinstall the install directory, etc. Happens when, for example, I change localhost to domain name, but on any occasion I change the file/s.

Sorry - on one occasion, I entered my domain name in the https config and left https: at 'false'. Had to run the whole config thing again. Any change I make to those files has this effect. There must be something I am missing.

All my configuration info is correct, and works perfectly otherwise

Yes, that used to be the case for me. No idea to begin where to see what is going wrong!
