It all comes down to using correct paths within your 2 config files. If in doubt, contact your Hoster to confirm what should be used.

Very few Zen Cart modules require changes to your config files. Once the config files are correctly setup you should not have to make any changes; unless changing Hosters, using another directory, etc.

This is weard. The only thing I can think about right now is a permission problem. After FTPing your file, check the permission to make sure that your file can be read. If there is a permission issue don't try to make any change with your FTP client. Use your file manager in your control panel instead.
