Free Shipping and Paid for Shipping ?

This is the scenario.....

We have suppliers who will ship goods direct to customers and we also hold stock of many products. The goods that will ship direct will have NO SHIPPING charge and obviously goods we dispatch ourselves will.

I have enabled the "Yes, Always free shipping" on the products that can be sent direct and "No, normal shipping rules" on all the items we carry in stock.

The problem is that if they add to the cart and Item which is Free Shipping and then add a product that is not, the only option to select is Free shipping as the free shipping module disables all other options.

Can anyone give some advice on the best way to achieve this ?

Something isn't setup right then ...

If you have 0 weight and 0 weight does NOT mean Free Shipping then you need to turn that OFF in the Shipping/Packaging ...

What Shipping method are you using when the Products are NOT marked as Always Free Shipping ...

NOTE: Always Free shipping does need to have the Free Shipping freeshipper installed for the Shipping Module ...

When things are setup correctly, you should be able to have a Product that is marked Always Free Shipping and a Product that is NOT marked as Always Free Shipping and see your Shipping Module ...

Test by adding to the cart a Product that is NOT marked as Always Free Shipping to see what Shipping Modules show ...

I turned off the 0 weight option, and also the Free Shipping module, which I read in the E-start book needed to be turned on (also says that all other options for shipping will disappear, which confused me !)

The other thing that I needed to change was the maximum shipping amount (ie. the price of the items) in the Royal Mail modules I was using, as I added another module for testing and they got displayed, so I went back and checked the other modules and thats what needed changing.

There is just one other thing I would like to get working and wonder if you can tell me the best way to go about it, and that is to display on the product view that the item has free shipping. Is it something that I can do using an attribute ?

Sorted out the display free shipping option under the product types menu so no need to worry about that.

Although I tested my site with 2 products, 1 free shipping and 1 chargeable, its still coming up with a shipping options for products that are free shipping. Is there any way around this ?

I need to do pretty much the same thing for a golf shop client.

He wants to offer free shipping on everything except the club sets. Then on the club sets he wants to have the men and women's sets ship for $25.00 each and the juniors for $20.00 each.

So I was going to go in and change everything to free shipping except the club sets, then put a shipping attribute for the set dollar amounts on the club sets.

Can I do that? If so, I have done every kind of attribute thus far except for a shipping one, are those set up any special way?
