should i upgrade?

My plan was to upgrade this spring as our busy season kicks off in May. I won't be able to revisit upgrading until the season is over in November. Will 1.4 be out as it was announced for 2008? Any sign of when 2008? I realize the privilege here of using zen is to help test it out as it is developed but have to keep the store afloat. I'm mostly interested in a better attributes controller and returns handling function without installing separate mods. Any insights appreciated.

I would attempt to stay current to minimize the # of changes when 1.4 is available and this can and should be done with a test/development site/folder with it's own DB

We believe you should ALWAYS upgrade, but with a caveat - upgrade in a test area and test, test, test before you take a new version live, especially when it is a major new version. Zen Cart v1.4 will be a major version change. ETA - sometime this year.

I tend to wait for a few weeks after an upgrade is announced - and let others experience teething bugs!

Then when it looks like most of the bugs have been zapped - I upgrade.

Just a recap:
Still working on my test site, but must say everything is going pretty flawlessly compared to my early experiences with versions 1.2.7 through 1.3.0.2

The only code changes i had to do were urls etc. in the config files. Everything else was orchestrated through the control panel and a small change to the style sheet. GREAT!
