What is my user name?

Yep I'm hopeless, all these instructions for beginners aren't really helpful for REAL beginners.

I'm trying to login to my admin page but the darn thing won't take any user name I could have ever come up with. But yet I can request a new password and its sent to my inbox. What the heck is my username????? I've tried all the database users I just input and all email address. HELP?? Do I have to uninstall the whole thing and redo it???

Second - click the tutorials/FAQ link at the top of the page.

Third - search the tutorials for 'reset admin password'.

Heloooo can anyone help? I tried the query thing and all I got was an error. Shouldn't my username be one of the Database users or is it something else??

Please, this shouldn't be that hard to answer for anyone who CAN login. What is your user name? is it a database user?

THey should rewrite the beginner instructions so that beginners can actually understand them.

Sorry you had trouble remembering your username.

The username is not supplied in email for security reasons.

If it were to send out an email containing both username and password, wouldn't that leave your admin area somewhat at-risk in terms of security?

At install-time, you have the option of entering your own choice of admin username, password, and email address. It would be prudent to record this information if it is something you wouldn't easily remember.
If you are not using the installer provided by Zen Cart, but instead are using a one-click install provided by your hosting company, you should write down the admin access information which they provide you with at the end of the installation.
These steps would save you some headaches in the future.
