If a user orders a product that is not in stock, I want only to authorize the card, and process the payment, when the product comes in and is shipped to the customer, is this how Zen-Cart is set up?

Or is there a solution out there?

Assuming that you already have a CC terminal in your brick and mortar store or office.

This works with the Credit Card Payment module. Zen Cart stores the first and last 4 digits of the CC in the database and eMail the middle 8 digits to you.

Then when you are ready you can process the CC on your terminal.
