I have products from drop shippers as well as some I ship myself. One shipper is a % of the order, one uses a table based on where the product is being delivered and how far away that is from the shipper, not me, and a couple have set shipping amounts.

So far, I have just included the shipping cost in the price of the item on those that have a set amount or I've used flat rate. The problem is I can't figure out how to make the cart use the right shipping method for the product. All the methods get listed for each product and that just doesn't work for me. Is there a way to say that shipping costs will be determined later and then I contact the person before completing the order after they approve the cost? I'd rather have the program do it automatically as I'd probably lose sales otherwise.

I've searched all over to try to find a way to have the shipping be tied to the product and/or the category, but I haven't been able to find something that will work. I found a thread where someone said this was being worked on and should be ready in a week or two but that was a month ago. I don't know if I'm not looking in the right places or if this just hasn't been talked about or figured out.

If a customer were to order two items, then there would be two shipping costs. It would be helpful if the cart could indicate which charge was for which category.

I haven't been able to list all the products I'm a distributor for since I can't figure out how to do it right.
