    Default Do I need 'permissions' to change logo?

    I've located the logo but can't edit it, or create a new one and save as same name.

    Is there a facilities to change the permission allowing me to do so?

    Peewhy;

    I assume you are talking about the header logo. You may want to check the read / write permissions on your folder. During the installation of Zen Cart it told you what files / folders needed to be changed and to what permissions. If you still have the full install folder on your computer or uploaded the docs folder to your site it contains a document called 1.readme_installation.html which tells you which files and folders to modify.

    Also if (you should be) using the override system and then the file would end up in your includes/templates/your_template_name/images/image.***

    I would start there and see if that solves your problem.

    Good Luck

    Thanks for that.

    Sadly I haven't a clue about the installation, it was done for me.

    Using my graphics editor, I've followed the route to the image but ip simply won't open.

    I am not aware whether this is the 'override' system...don't you love newbies?

    If your permissions are set correctly, there shouldn't be any problems. But of course, as with ANY files, there can NEVER be 2 files in the same folder with the EXACT same name. They must be slightly different. Just delete or rename the logo.gif (to logo2.gif) that's there now, and insert your new logo.gif.

    Also, like obe1 said, if your going to be changing the design of your template, you should ALWAYS use the override instructions to help you create your own overrides.

    Check permissions. Make SURE that they're NOT Read Only. Is this a "Live" site?

    It is a live site - how do I check permissions to see if they are read only?

    Use your hosts Admin Panel, or FTP program......I'm assuming you DO have FTP access?

    Hello

    Thanks for that, it would appear that the 'read. write & execute' are all ticked ...so it isn't a permissions issue?

    Would there be another reason why I can't edit the header logo?
