In Store Sales Item only.

Greetings,

Our company has not only our web division but a real retail store. With that we have certain product lines that are prohibited from being sold on-line. (long story - but we agree with it) HOWEVER -- we want to be able to show the products - some with, some without a price AND have it show IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY.

Is there a way we can change some info in the product set up to allow for this kind of button -- kind of like the Free button (but not free). They can't add it to the cart etc.

I need to be able to enter my products the same way I enter all the other products -- just want a little box to click that says .. IN STORE SALES only.

As this does not exist...one would have to not only custom code the admin to show the checkbox but then also custom code the product list, product info, and a few others to check for this etc etc

Since it's doubtful we will ever have a FREE product. And if we do i can make it a zero price -- can i change the code on FREE product to be IN STORE ONLY and change the price to also read that ?

What might work better is to use the "call for price" function and edit the text "call for price" to "In Store Only"

Copied from the demo products description for the example:

This is a Call for Price product with no price

This should show as having a price, special price but then be Call for Price. This means you cannot buy it.

Where the price was set to 0.00
and right under this product is free is:

Product is Call for Price: check yes

I did not check but "call for price" is most likely in english.php as a defines and you can change what is between the single quotes

I need a similar solution asked for in this thread.
I have items that are In Store Pickup Only. The idea would be that someone could order items (eggs) and then go to the store (farm) and pick them up and pay for them. I haven't really decided if they could be paid for in advance, but that's a possibility.

I thought about that, but decided that it wouldn't really help, because other items (vegetables) could possibly have a "Call for Price" need.

I believe I will have to create a Product Type of In Store Pickup Only, a payment method of In Store Pickup, and a shipping method of In Store Pickup. Also, I will have to do something about adding items to the cart that both In Store Pickup Only and Shippable.

I've started on the Product Type, but I am having some issue getting the Layout part to show up.
