Flat Rate Shipping On Only One Product In Store

How do I set this up, and how would this work if a customer purchases a flat rate item, and an item that is not flat rate in my store? I am a dummy, and do not know HTML or programming. I would need it explained to me in VERY simple instructions! Please![/FONT]

I've purchased the zen book a while ago, but cannot seem to find the answer there either. Honestly, your response makes no sense (at least to me), and seems a tad sarcastic to those that are trying to learn and understand. I suppose its pitiful that everyone that has chosen to utilize zen are not rocket scientists, but isn't this forum here to help the rest of us "less educated" in the "art of zen" understand it more? She normally asks such questions to help us think through our own questions and help herself understand your question better. In fact, I've personally seen her asking herself such questions while thinking through some coding problems too.

Ok, with regards to your question. Currently, Zen Cart does not offer per-product shipping option.

So if you have only flat rate shipping option set up, then customers checking out with whatever number of items will only see that shipping option.

Since you have the book, you can turn to pg 123 for more information on setting up the Flat Rate shipping module.

So that would also mean that if I had a normal shipping method set up by lets say weight, then I could not also have shipping set up for one item as free? The item in question are bookmarks that I make, and even using the weight to ship these, calculate way too high. So on this one item only, I need to either have it set up as a flat rate or free then, and I would build shipping into the price. If I can't do either, then how do I set it up by weight that won't put a laminated bookmark with shipping that equals the bookmark price itself? This is where the frustration come in.[/FONT]

If you mark the Products for Always Free Shipping all you need to do is setup in the Shipping/Packaging that 0 weight means Free Shipping and install the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping modules to that when only the bookmarks are in the cart that the Free Shipping can happen ...

You can also customize shipping for just about anything ... it just depends on how well you like to code ...

If I had 10 things with Free Shipping or 0 weight and added it to 1 thing with a $5.00 charge for shipping or 1 lb weight and got a quote from UPS ...

1lb + (10 * 0) = 1lb

$5.00 + (10 * 0) = $5.00

It isn't going to add anything to the charge as there is nothing to add ...

Always Free Shipping marks a product to not be included in shipping charges for weight or price or item count ...

0 weight is not going to affect shipping modules based on weight ...

The problem I have is I want to charge $125 for ground shipping to the 48 Continental States on a couple products. The rest of the products will be based off of weight and use the UPS and Fedex Modules. I have tried messing with the weights of the product and also with the tare, but when I go over 75 pounds, the FedEx ground will not show up.
