The reason your header is blank is because your site cannot find the image file. It's nothing to do with the file format - it just can't find it. I've had a poke around your site and can't find it in any variation of the path where you say you have put it, or of the place where your site is looking.

Can you post the full path and file name taking care to reflect precisely the upper and lowercase that you are using.
