Use zencart without user interface?

I want to use zencart with a site that already has it's own layout. Can anyone give me advice on how to integrate zencart with it? I would like to use zencarts functions more like a library (Although I still need the admin section to be functional).

Zen Cart is not designed to work that way.

You can have it installed in a subfolder and access the product/shopping functions by one or more links from the outer site. That has some drawbacks, but can be perfectly functional.

You can make ZC look exactly like the rest of your site so the transition is relatively seamless.
Or you can have ZC do everything and become your site, depending on just what other functions you need.
